“I am 71 and housebound with arthritis. I have leg ulcers, and have twice requested house calls from my GP practice. Both times a doctor came the next day, and then I was referred to the District Nurses, who visited thrice weekly and now once weekly.
The nurses are efficient, cheerful and kind when the treatment is painful. They are adaptable in our cluttered flat, but tactfully explained that they need to risk-assess their working environment and that our landing bookshelves clutter was indeed a safety risk, so my family took the shelves down.
A local pharmacy delivers the supplies needed to my front door at the nurses’ request.
Partly thanks to the good communication between the three organisations, I am getting very good treatment from all concerned.
