IMPORTANT HAFSON GENERAL MEETING
12th August 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
ZOOM MEETING – 7.00 – 8.30pm, WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST
It is still not safe to meet up face to face but important things are happening in the NHS which we need to discuss and where we need to set priorities for the coming months.
We know that health bosses are moving forward, out of the public view, with plans to restructure health provision in London; the review of palliative care at Pembridge seems to be due for publication in the near future; there is talk of reopening the Hammersmith Urgent Treatment Centre and Parsons Green Walk-in Centre. We have been raising questions about referral backlogs with both Imperial Trust and at the Patient Reference Group. And there are increasing issues about the pressure to make consultations with GPs and with hospitals digital first – with all the risks that this implies. HAFSON has opened discussions about the digital deficit with Age UK and with H&F Council. We need to discuss this issue. And there have been new initiatives on mental health which have not yet been discussed with the public or with patient groups.
Clearly we won’t be able to discuss all this in any detail – but we do need to start prioritising these issues and finding ways understand better what’s going on.
Here’s the link for the meeting – but I’ll circulate again early next week. And I’m attaching the minutes from our 1st zoom meeting (- no minutes were taken for the more social meeting in July).
